I started my career working in the forensic engineering industry, investigating losses for insurance and legal clients. This gave me a wide range of experience, from investigating fires in electronics, cars, and structures, to mechanical failures and construction incidents. During this time, I developed an expertise around all things data, and became the subject matter expert on losses which involved sensors and the processing and analysis of large datasets.
I built on this experience by becoming an engineering consultant for a energy analytics firm, performing building operational analytics of large commercial properties, as well as submeter cost allocation and analytics.
In 2019, I joined an IoT company specializing in smart leak detection technologies as the Senior Data Analyst, responsbile for client deliverables, business insights, and algorithm development. I steadily increased in scope and responsiblity, to become the Director of Data and Technology, providing technical direction to our product suite comprising LoRaWAN, wifi, and GPRS smart IoT devices. I manage our product development team, which consists of product specialists, firmware developers, QA testers, as well as a handful of third party vendors. In addition to this, I manage our data analytics group, providing reporting and analytics to internal and external stakeholders, as well as directing and defining requirements for software development (both in the cloud and in firmware) to support new feature development and integrations, as well as data strategy and guidelines.
